Linda Connelly is a lifelong
New Yorker who spent the first 20 years of her post graduate career in
advertising and marketing before embarking on a full time art career. She has
never looked back.
Her painting style favors the
impressionists, who remain her favorite painters; her love of the colors used
by the fauvists is particularly evident in her pastels.
Linda has studied at the Art
Students League of New York and the New York
Academy School. This year she was awarded a scholarship by the prestigious Pastel Society of America.
She dedicates her painting to
the memory of Richard Pionk, her first teacher and friend, from whom she
learned one of her most important lessons: "Painting is a process of
correction.” Linda has studied extensively with Nicki
Orbach, Joseph Peller and Gregg Kreutz, great painters and teachers.
In addition to exhibitions at
the Art Students League, Linda has been in several shows aboard the SS Lilac, a retired lighthouse tender which is converted to a floating art gallery throughout the year, and at the Kent Art Association in Kent, CT.
